Step 1 — One Form, Five to Ten Minutes
Everything begins with the single request form on the apply page (and the homepage). It collects the standard set every legitimate US lender requires: legal name, date of birth, address, and Social Security number for identity; income source, amount, and frequency; and the routing and account numbers of the checking account where funds would land. Choose an amount between $500 and $5,000 — ideally the amount your actual expense costs, as every guide on this site repeats. Submitting typically involves a soft credit check, which does not affect your score.
Step 2 — The Platform Routes Your Request
The moment you submit, the OlivFinancial platform transmits the request to participating lenders — each an independent, state-licensed company — whose criteria broadly match your profile and whose licenses cover your state. This is why available lenders and terms differ across state lines, and why we never promise a specific lender will respond: each one decides for itself. Your information travels exactly as described in our privacy policy; we do not sell requests to unrelated marketing lists.
Step 3 — Lenders Respond
Interested lenders reply directly — often within minutes during business hours, usually by morning for overnight submissions — each with its own proposed amount, APR, term, and payment schedule, typically presented on the lender's own site. Three outcomes are possible: one offer, several offers, or none this time. None of the three creates any record against you, and none obligates you to anything. If no offer arrives, the 60-day improvement plan on our eligibility page converts most first-round declines into second-round matches.
Step 4 — Compare and Decide, at Your Pace
An offer is an option, never a countdown. Line up the five numbers our rates guide teaches: APR, monthly payment, total of payments, the fee schedule, and the prepayment policy. Test the payment against your budget with the calculator and the displacement method from our budgeting guide. Ask the lender anything unclear — they are obligated to disclose terms plainly before you sign. Then accept the offer that fits, or decline everything at zero cost.
Step 5 — Sign, Fund, and Repay with Your Lender
Accepting an offer moves everything to the lender: final verification, electronic signing, and funding — often as soon as the next business day, with bank posting times accounting for most variation. From funding onward, the lender services the loan entirely: payments, statements, payoff quotes, hardship questions. Save their contact details on day one, set autopay per our autopay guide, and the platform's role is complete. Questions about the platform itself remain welcome anytime at (888) 660-6096 or [email protected].
